Background – Why are we launching a drawing campaign?

The DNB Savings Bank Foundation has, together with Tegnerforbundet , Art and Design in Schools and Art in Schools have taken the initiative for a drawing initiative. The goal is to increase knowledge and skills in drawing, and at the same time arouse curiosity about drawing both as an artistic expression and as a tool for learning.

Drawing is a simple tool that should be available to everyone and is one of our most basic forms of expression. Today we see that drawing is under pressure, partly due to digital technology and artificial intelligence, while arts and crafts subjects in basic education are being downgraded. Drawing represents important knowledge that we do not want to lose. Tomorrow's working life will require creativity and resilience, and drawing is an entry point to stimulate these skills. With the drawing pledge, we want to give drawing a national boost.

Throughout 2025, we have worked to develop the content and direction of the initiative. The launch of the Drawing Campaign will take place in spring 2026. The initiative will be broad and across different arenas and professional environments.
