Anja Ulset's project is about buildings that disappear. Buildings that are to be demolished, or that fall into disrepair until they are gone. This project started when Anja completed a bachelor's degree at The Art Academy in Bergen, in the autumn of 2007. Ten years have passed, and all the buildings she worked on then are gone today. New ones have arrived, the image of the city is constantly changing. In some places it goes slowly, so that we hardly notice it, with a gradual decay. Or it happens abruptly, with demolitions happening from one day to the next. We build houses and we tear them down again. This exhibition consists of charcoal drawings of buildings that are currently in danger of demolition. Anja has invited the artist Karen Skog, and the authors Kjersti Rorgemoen and Mari Ulset, to write texts for a publication that will be launched at the opening. Anja Ulset graduated from The Art Academy in Bergen, where she completed her master's in 2010. She works mainly with drawing, installation, fanzines and artist books.
