Arne Nøst assembles various three-dimensional elements that meet with projections and music. 12 different mammalian skulls are hung on racks, and each of the skulls is coated with a human face that sings the skull's name in Latin. The songs are pitched down a fifth, and are experienced as male voices. The work examines other mammals' anatomical similarities with humans, but also the distance and alienation in our experience of belonging to the animal world. The melodies of each skull are inspired by Gregorian chant music, and intertwine as a chorus of 12 voices.
