Bylukter (City odors)

Hans Kristian Borchgrevink Hansen uses what he has at hand and explores his immediate surroundings to discover something supposedly familiar in a new way. He tries to take materials seriously, even if they are found in the sofa crack. Do not shape them according to predetermined ideas, but let yourself be guided by the inherent properties of the material. As a passive artist, led by the tiny.

'Bylukter' (City odors) is an exhibition consisting of paperwork, murals and an animated film.

The film's protagonists are small debris and objects picked up from the street or studio floor during a stay in a European city. Along with the film, paperwork mounted above a wall drawing of pocket debris is shown. The exhibition forms a rich archive of materials, shapes, colors, surfaces and stories. The material maps the city's visual growth and forms a travel description told through discoveries, remains and fragments.

Hans Kristian Borchgrevink Hansen is a graduate of Nordland Art and Film School, The Art Academy in Oslo and The Art Academy in Bergen (2011). He has been purchased by public and private institutions, e.g. Nordnorsk Kunstmuseum and Skogfinsk Museum.
