Exhibition opening 19 September at 18.
Tegnerforbundet welcomes you to Ingri Haraldsen's exhibition Caught up in Awareness . Haraldsen exhibition can be seen as an installation composed of works in different materials. She continues her work with themes from her recent exhibitions with a focus on the role of women in a historical and mythological perspective. The opening is preceded by a collaboration between Ingri Haraldsen and Ingvild Langgård, where the last piece in the installation falls into place. This short session starts at 18.15 precise!
The overall starting point for my exhibition is the woman's role in society seen in a slightly hazy mythological, psychological and archaeological light. The woman has throughout the ages been shrouded in myth, especially for the opposite sex. She has been bound by expectations and strict requirements have been set for self-control and appearance. The title of the exhibition can be read as being trapped in oneself, in one's own mind, in one's consciousness. Letting something go too far and creating a distance both psychologically and in digital life. When the ego is the main focus, a tunnel vision can occur and the individual who is in the center is isolated. We are primarily herd animals and have a natural need to see ourselves in the context of others. The exhibition will be composed of partly abstract, partly concrete stories presented through drawings in various formats, sculptures, textiles, video and sound.
