Gulosten

Kristian Krohg-Sørensen (born in 1980, living in Oslo) is a journalist and educated in Russian studies. He works as a writer, translator and illustrator. A childhood dream of making comics came true when he debuted with the comic book biography Gulosten - Liv i helvete at the publisher No Comprendo Press earlier this year. The true story of the alcohol smuggler, criminal gentleman and part of the resistance movement Johannes "Gulosten" Andersen has become a (bio) graphic novel in black and white, drawn in A3 format with a nib pen and liquid ink. Krohg-Sørensen has been told that he is not "the best illustrator in the class", but is fascinated by the comic's opportunities to both build dramaturgy and create atmosphere. With "Liv i helvete", the first book in a planned trilogy about Gulosten, the goal has been to tell an exciting story with both dark and humorous undertones, which depict a difficult upbringing in a difficult time period.
