Kristin Evensen works with pencil on paper in small formats and she is showing new work in the project room. From a distance, the drawings appear as dark, almost monochrome surfaces and the viewer only gets to see the subject up close. The motifs are taken from real places and are excerpts from functional urban architecture and industrial areas with a focus on basic geometric shapes. The technique is very time consuming and meticulous. The compositions are built up layer by layer with very light pencil shading on thin fragile paper, from the lightest shades of gray down to the darkest shades.

Kristin Evensen (1965) is a graduate from Statens Kunstakademi (KHiO). She has previously had separate exhibitions in Kunstnerforbundet, Sørlandets Kunstmuseum (SKMU) and Oslo Kunstforening and she has participated in various group exhibitions. Her work has been purchased by i.a. The National Museum of Art, Architecture and Design and SKMU. She lives and works in Kristiansand. The exhibition is supported by Norsk Kulturråd.
