Exhibition opening at Thursday 15 March at 6 pm.
Marvin Halleraker's accurate and at times ruthless line is for many a well-known and dear "friend" when it comes to commenting on current issues. In Tegnerforbundet we get to refresh our memory when Halleraker exhibits selected drawings from the last ten years.
Marvin Halleraker draws on paper, with many techniques. He processes his line in Photoshop, and also does all coloring digitally. The drawings are mainly set around a clear visual idea, and are usually in a textual context. Marvin Halleraker shows satirical drawings where most have been published in the newspapers Bergens Tidende, Klassekampen, Vårt Land and Morgenbladet.
Marvin Halleraker (born 1962) is a Norwegian visual artist, illustrator, author and musician, and is educated at Bergen Art Academy (BKHS). Halleraker has submitted commentary drawings and portraits to Bergens Tidende from 1990. He currently makes regular contributions to Bergens Tidende, Vårt Land and Morgenbladet. He has also illustrated several books and made his debut as an author with his own picture book "Høyt over husene" in 2007. The book has also been published in Ireland, the Netherlands and Germany, and was nominated for the Brage Prize and the Youth Literature Prize in 2007. In 2011 Halleraker published his second picture book "Freddy".
