Good news! Tegnerforbundet has received NOK 1.33 million in support from the DNB Savings Bank Foundation, which means that we can continue and develop our popular project YOUTH IN DRAWING until 2027! This is an important contribution to strengthening young people's encounter with drawing, the joy of creation and community.
YOUNG IN DRAWING is a low-threshold course for children and young people between the ages of 4 and 17. Here, participants get to try both traditional and digital drawing techniques, guided by professional artists. The courses are held at our premises, and interest in 2024 and 2025 has been great. We have had full courses and many people who want to join.
With YOUTH IN DRAWING we want to create an arena where children and young people can have fun with drawing, meet others with the same interest, and experience mastery and the joy of creation. We want to highlight drawing as an important means of expression – a path to reflection, social belonging, cultural engagement and personal expression.
The project is part of our purpose to make drawing and illustration more accessible and inclusive, as well as to show the diversity of expressions. Many people start drawing early, but eventually lose the desire. With YOUNG IN DRAWING we want to reverse this trend and give more people the opportunity to explore their creativity, regardless of experience or background.
We would like to extend a big thank you to Sparebankstiftelsen DNB for their trust and support, and look forward to continuing to spread the joy of drawing and the spark of creativity among children and young people in the years to come!
