Young in drawing

about YOUNG IN DRAWING

YOUNG IN DRAWING is the Norwegian Artists' Association's outreach program for children and young people, launched in 2024 with support from the DNB Savings Bank Foundation. The program is a creative meeting place where children and young people can explore drawing in a wide range of expressions and experience the joy of creation through professional artistic processes.

Workshops and courses

YOUTH IN DRAWING offers workshops and courses throughout the year. We arrange weekend courses in the Tegnerforbundet workshop premises at Rådhusgata 17 , as well as an after-school program on Thursdays in collaboration with the Seriesteket at Deichman Grünerløkka – Tegnerforbundet at the Seriesteket .

The workshops are led by professional actors, mainly members of Tegnerforbundet , and is adapted to different age groups and skill levels.

Drawing in an extended field

Through YOUNG IN DRAWING, participants work with, among other things, illustration, comics, animation, book art and experimental drawing techniques. The program emphasizes process, exploration and artistic curiosity.

The workshops are not just about learning technical skills, but about experiencing drawing as a physical, tactile and creative practice. Drawing can be anything from pencil on paper to animation, spatial expressions and performative formats.

The goal is to make drawing accessible to a younger target group in an inclusive and inspiring community, and to give children and young people the experience of mastery, the joy of creation and the freedom to express themselves through drawing.

The project manager for YOUNG IN DRAWING is Suzannah Rehell Øistad.
