Trær jeg har møtt (Trees I have encountered)

The chestnut tree in the courtyard. The tall, heavy, proud, birch tree with long swinging arms. The weeping willow, and the tree with a trunk black as coal. These are some of the trees in Anna Fiske's life. And then all the pine trees: in the childhood garden, by the sea, where they are formed by salt, on the mountain, in the garden in the new country. You must always have a pine tree in your life.

The exhibition shows portraits of these, sequences of meetings, trees that are there, that are always there if you need them, trees that are gone, memories that are left.

The exhibition consists partly of pen drawings from Anna Fiske's new book, the book of poems 'Trær jeg har møttt', and of other independent drawings and objects with their own stories, the five meter long forest, sticks with expressions, the small and the large cones and children's needles . The project 'Take-with-you-drawing' (buy and bring here and now) contains a thousand small portraits made with pen and acrylic, sewn into pockets together with objects from the forest.

Fiske (b. 1964, Ängelholm, Sweden), is educated at Konstfackskolan in Stockholm. She has published a large number of her own picture books and comics, and is a highly esteemed illustrator. Fishing has a distinctive, creative and innovative style, both literary and visual. This has contributed to her receiving a number of prestigious prizes and awards, among them Bokkunstprisen in 2014. She has three times received the Ministry of Culture's prizes for children and youth literature. Fiske has been purchased by the National Library.
