The exhibition "Stillheten er mitt papir" (The silence is my paper) has taken its name from a book project that has been created through a collaboration between Czapran and the author Aasne Linnestå. The book will be presented during the exhibition. - In my artistic practice, I work with installations, objects, sculptures and drawings that are all created for specific spaces. Sensuality, materiality and the procedural are the driving forces in my work; the intuitive and exploratory is absolutely central when I work. Low-value materials such as corrugated fiberboard, cardboard, paper, used matches, etc. are something that has always interested me. The working technique is both demanding and slow, and often changes the original expression of the material. Using these different materials, I build shapes and structures that bear the mark of being in constant growth, in constant change. The various techniques I return to can range from cutting and gluing, to folding and curling. Through the use of these techniques, I create forms of shredded colored cardboard and other materials or incense. The colors become part of a language, and are related to the growth, expression and perception of the form. When exploring the low-value materials and changing their original expression, I try to shine a light on what these values really consist of, and why we divide things into different categories.
