Filippa Barkman's artistry draws its power from the intersection between events and conditions. Her drawings deal with themes such as identity, transience and relationships. The characters function as as metaphors for emotional states, different states of mind and often operate in a borderland between pain and pleasure. In Tegnerforbundet gallery she shows a suite of new charcoal drawings and watercolors.
Filippa Barkman (b.1982 in Stockholm) is educated at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Stockholm 2005-2009 and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bergen 2004-2005.
