Exhibition opening 15 August at 18:00.
In Hanne Grieg Hermansen's new works, light plays a central role. We have been impressed by her technical drawing skills in the past. For this exhibition, Grieg Hermansen will also show large works made with colored pencil, and we are proud to be able to show them here in Tegnerforbundet.
I work with drawing primarily based on photography, where technique and time use are an important part of the expression. Formally, I work mainly with pure pencil drawings, as well as more sculptural drawing-based works. Time, manual work, value shift, illusion and the tipping point between drawing and photography are important components in my artistic work.
For the exhibition at Tegnerforbundet , I am addressing the main condition of photography, namely light, both as a concrete study of form and an investigation in which the aim is to recreate the actual effect light has on the apparatus of perception. Mimicking the eye and the camera as visual apparatus and visual technology respectively is central to several parts of my project.
