Affair

Elgaard Mortensen works within a low-key, minimal pictorial universe. His drawings often consist of two to four different elements, some abstract, others abstract, others realistic. The motifs are small, so a large part of the drawings consist solely of the white surface of the paper. This gives the works a calm and meditative meditative expression that is matched by a latent eeriness in the choice of motifs. In the images shown in Tegnerforbundet include scalpels, skulls and a scene from an illegal demonstration. illegal demonstration.

The title "Affair" can mean an unknown journey. This could have been the artist's motto. He is interested in formulating poetic statements that are characterized by the unfinished and ambiguous.
