Tegnerforbundet has the great pleasure of of being able to present a major retrospective exhibition of the works of Rune Johan Andersson, curated by art historian Holger Koefoed. The exhibition takes a deep dive into the enormous production Andersson has behind him. And even though it includes a large number of works, it can only hint at the quantity, diversity and range found in Andersson's work over 40 years.
Rune Johan Andresson has never dated his works, so you won't find a chronological review of his long life as a draughtsman and illustrator will not be found in Tegnerforbundet. Koefoed has instead chosen to present them in thematic groups such as the Dagbladet period, the Aftenposten period, black and white works, book illustrations etc. The exhibition will give the audience the opportunity to (re)experience Andersson's humorous, subtle, imaginative and surreal drawings and surrealistic drawings and illustrations.
Holger Koefoed writes in the catalog that accompanies the exhibition: Such a retrospective look at an artist's production always raises many questions, but also opens up some answers - not least about what the personal touch is, some of the assertions in the artistic expression that can only be found here - and who is Rune Johan Andersson.
