Siv Jensen's claws scratch on the parquet, an anxious Hareide slaps Anundsen's bare ass, under the night sky a neanderthal looks at the stars and from a tivoli a large teddy bear walks home with a man under his arm.
Siri Dokken has been a regular illustrator in Dagsavisen since 1995. Dokken's drawings in the newspaper are known for their precise line, which is combined with a relentless ability to observe, but just as often with great warmth. Siri Dokken says she wants to achieve a reflection in the viewer. On the way to that goal, all means are allowed: outrageous exaggerations, poetry, provocation, humor, pathos or surrealism. And while it may not have all happened exactly the way she describes it, it still feels like it has.
Dokken (born 1966), is educated from SHKS (now KHiO), she has published several books and participated in exhibitions in Norway and abroad. Her drawings have won several prizes, among them the Swedish EWK prize and she has twice won "Årets Avistegning". Several drawings by Dokken have been purchased by The National Museum and The National Library.
