Dresses

Susanne Roti's work exists in the layer between image and garment and between idea and reality.

With ballpoint pen drawings, printed digitally on textile, Roti aims to mimic the texture and materiality of various dresses, where the drawings merge with the sewn details of the garment. The exhibition "Dresses" explores drawing as an important part of the design of three-dimensional form and as a tool for communicating ideas. The works connect past and present by showing the representation of a garment and the garment itself at the same time.

Susanne Roti (b. 1984, Asker), has studied art history at the University of Bergen and clothing and costume design at the Oslo Academy of the Arts, where she graduated with a bachelor's degree in 2013. She has already participated in a number of group exhibitions. She lives and works in Oslo. The exhibition is supported by Arts Council Norway and Billedkunstnernes Vederlagsfond.
