We celebrate our 100th anniversary with an anniversary exhibition!

In 1916, a group of artists and illustrators joined forces to establish an interest organization for illustrators and the art of drawing. Today, the association has 538 members consisting of professional artists and illustrators with common professional, financial and artistic interests. 100 years is a short time compared to the history of drawing, but as an artistic trade union we are the country's oldest.

The anniversary exhibition will take a closer look at the history of Tegnerforbundet; including the position of illustration, newspaper illustration and of the free drawing in society and in the field of art. The exhibition will be built around three main points: It will show works by the founders' of Tegnerforbundet, it will set Tegnerforbundet into a 100-year historical perspective, and last - but not least - show the drawing's place in today's society and in the art field.
