Open Call - Drawing & Text
The word and the image are often considered to belong to separate worlds, albeit two worlds that can mirror each other. Both the word and the line germinate in the mind before it finds its incarnation on the paper (or screen). Through actions orchestrated by the hands, the idea takes shape through the line and/or the word, and what previously existed as a thought is given a visible form. Why does one idea end up as a text and another as a drawing? What distinguishes the two art forms and what connects them? We are looking for artists, and projects, that work with, or deal with, text and drawing, where drawing and text are equal elements in the final artwork.
The artists who are selected through Open Call are given a stay at Nordisk Kunstnarsenter Dale (NKD) in the period March, April and May 2020, and who together have a group exhibition in Tegnerforbundet in the spring of May 28. - June 28, 2020.
During the stay, the group must prepare a joint text, description of the exhibition concept and floor plan for the exhibition in Tegnerforbundet.
Each performer receives:
Kr. 10.000 per month from NKD during stay.
Travel support by appointment.
Remuneration from the TF.
Covered transport of the art from NKD to TF.
Covered transport of the art from TF and home.
