Lecture -  Gender and Sexuality in Tove Jansson's Life and Literature 

On the occasion of the exhibition Tove exhibition with Tove Marika Jansson (1914-2001), we invite you to the lecture Gender and sexuality in Tove Jansson's life and literature by Kira Schroeder, producer at Moomin Characters Ltd Oy.

In her lecture, Kira will talk about how Tove Jansson treated issues of gender and sexuality in her books, and what it was like to live as an openly gay woman in a time when homosexuality was criminalized in Finland. She will also address questions about how gender is expressed in Moominvalley and what the name Mymble has to do with sex.

The lecture will be held in English.

The lecture is free, open to all and does not require registration.
