In the period 31 August - 15 September, the project Brannklipp is arranged with Guri Guri Henriksen in Tegnerforbundet's project room. In this series, she works with a knife and scissors in cardboard. The project room will be an open work space during the period, and the artist will be present in the project room on Sundays 01./08./15. September and Thursday 12 September.
The artist himself describes the project as follows:
Chaos, tongues and throat. One night the wood-burning stove bent forward, first only a spark came, then it let it all go, let out flames. The moment the flames settled, I hovered with the children over our roof, I smiled and waved. From above the roofs I saw us running around down there and throwing blankets and pillows on the flames, which only got higher and higher. I saw how we picked up the extinguisher in the closet, pressed the trigger, how the hose danced in the air and sprayed white powder all over the room. Dots, dots, particles, over all the rolls, over all the animals I had cut out, over all the trees I had cut. The white dust settled like a blanket, muffled it all.
It got quiet.
Guri Guri Henriksen is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Paris. She has had a number of exhibitions and has participated with animated films at various national and international film festivals such as Örebro International Video Art Festival, "Mostra de Video Art Internacional d'Alcoi", Valencia, Spain and "Femina Film Festival", Verdal. She participated in the Drawing Biennale in 2010. Since 2014, she has worked with paper cuts and shadow play-related projects, including two stage productions for children and a preliminary project performing arts in collaboration with Animal Productions , with responsibility for the visual.
