Friday, July 12 at 6pm F5 Concept Store and Tegnerforbundet are inviting for the launch of t-shirts co-designed by Mari Kanstad Johnsen, Robin Danielsson, Bendik Kaltenborn and Bertil Greging in Tegnerforbundet's gallery. The event is part of the program 2018/19 of Art in Kvadraturen - Collaboration with neighbors in Kvadraturen.
Tegnerforbundet is an artist-run gallery for drawing art and an artist union. Tegnerforbundet's activities include a gallery, a sales department / online store, the magazine NUMER / numermagasin.no and Tegnetriennalen, a platform for mustering drawing art.
F5 is a concept store with a focus on Norwegian design, its own clothing brand and a multidisciplinary agency. The brothers Emil, Benjamin and Alexander Krystad Marthinsen are behind F5, and offer a carefully selected product package consisting of clothing, accessories and lifestyle products from Norwegian brands and designers, as well as self-designed products. F5 also offers services within design and production of everything from clothing to interior design, communication, concept development etc. and collaborates frequently with other actors on a project basis.
About the artists behind the collaboration:
Mari Kanstad Johnsen is a visual artist, illustrator and author, and is known for her imaginative and strong illustrations. She has illustrated a number of picture books for children, and made several artist books during artist residencies in Italy and the Netherlands.
Robin Danielsson lives and works in Oslo, and works with drawing and painting based on his immediate surroundings. He finds inspiration in, among others. a. classical painting tradition, ornamentation and popular culture.
Bendik Kaltenborn is a cartoonist, illustrator and animator. His clients include Todd Terje, The New Yorker and The New York Times, and he has also published his own comics. Kaltenborn is a co-founder of the comic book collective «Dongery».
Bertil Greging is a visual artist born and raised in Oslo. He has worked with a number of very different expressions; from strictly graphic drawings and paintings to colorful and expressive collage and paper works.
The t-shirts have a very limited edition, and are available in Tegnerforbundet during the launch and on the weekend of 13 - 14 July, 12-16. From 15 - 20 July, the garments are for sale at F5.
