Join a digital drawing course with Signe Parkins!
The course is based on Signe's improvisational approach to drawing, where " errors" that occur during the drawing process are an integral part of the working method and the finished work. The course is aimed at those of you who have some experience in drawing.
In the first part of the course, Signe Parkins will show examples from her own work and tell about her own approach to drawing. Furthermore, she will take the participants to a teaching section based on her work series MIG, MADDIKE, MORMOR which is shown in the exhibition in Tegnerforbundet , and which thematically springs from the artists' memories of their own childhood.
Participants will receive several specific exercises focusing on the line, such as drawing directly on the sheet without making sketches and without removing errors. The participants' completely personal place memories will be a thematic framework for the exercises. The aim of the course is to show how sketches and finished elements can coexist in a drawing, as well as to reduce the fear of the white sheet :)
Signe Parkins (1979) graduated as an illustrator from the Design School Kolding (DK) in 2007, and lives and works in Aarhus. Parkins has received great recognition for its serial photo stories. She has won the Ping Prize for Best Comic of the Year (2018), and received the Ministry of Culture's Illustrator Prize (2020) for the picture book The Flower That Loves You . Parkins has published several experimental books and has had a number of exhibitions. Next to the exhibition in Tegnerforbundet she is currently working on the exhibition Small Drawings in the Sketch Shop in Fåborg (DK).
