The event is part of the mediation program for the exhibition THE TIDES MAKE MOUNTAINS SWAY AND THE SCENT OF PINE CAN CREATE RAIN.
Welcome to Networks of Circatidal Earth Bodies, a live audio essay by Signe Liden.
Location: Tegnerforbundet
Date: Saturday, November 30
Time: 13:00-13:45
Signe Lidén works with the phenomenon of tidal earth; periodic deformations of the partially elastic earth's crust caused by the gravitational attraction of celestial bodies. Through recordings from an Arctic fiber cable and an earth drill microphone placed deep in the beach sand at Castro Marim, the audience will be taken on a quest for frequencies that move the earth's crust and make mountains sway.
About Signe Lidén
Signe Lidén (based in Oslo) explores in her work connections between perception, sound and place through instrument building, sound recording and long-term collaborations. With long-term thinking as a focal point, she is interested in sound as time, how tidal earth and the rhythms of the tides shape life, and expressions of the protection of life in a future in crisis.
The event is free, open to all and requires no registration. The event will be conducted in Norwegian.
