IN Numer #137 we present an exclusive interview with Inger Johanne Grytting , conducted by Lene Fjørtoft. The interview was made in connection with the retrospective exhibition Inger Johanne Grytting: Three decades in drawing as Tegnerforbundet shows from April 10 to June 15, and which Fjørtoft has curated. Grytting talks about what it was like to come to New York and about her meeting with Jan Groth, which became a turning point in her artistic career. The interview is written in English, as Grytting has lived in New York since 1972.
Numer Writer and artist Ingun Bøhn spent a year studying in Warsaw in the 1970s, where she experienced Polish poster culture up close. She talks about key artists and shows us a selection of the distinctive posters.
Inger Marie Kjølstadmyr has visited Trond Bredesen to look at his stamps. This is not an old-fashioned check trick on Bredesen's part, because the "almost" retired illustrator has distinguished himself as a stamp artist over the past five years. In the interview, we get an insight into the process behind the stamps.
We round off this edition with two reviews. Åsa Osmundsen Opedal has looked at the picture book Nattlubben by Mona Vetrhus and the German illustrator Sebastian Meschenmoser . Tora Sanden Døskeland has visited Kabuso and the exhibition Heimsyn by Brynhild Grødeland Winther .
