This is the big AI issue! Walter Wehus has interviewed cartoonist and artist Flu Hartberg about the fight against AI-generated images. Hartberg has also illustrated the cover with an exclusive drawing. NUMER -editor Fredrik Rysjedal gives you a status report on what is happening right now in the political landscape around AI-generated content , and Inger Marie Kjølstadmyr has created a survey about AI with illustrators Eivind Gulliksen, Eline Myklebust Madsen and Hilde Hodnefjeld.
We will of course look up from the dystopia. Egon Låstad, Øyvind Holen, Kjetil Røed and Fredrik Rysjedal summarize the latest news in the fields of illustration, visual arts, comics and picture books.
Anne Schäffer takes us to Stockholm and the exhibition Ännu en morgon – Teckning in the Moderna Museet collection . Schäffer writes that the exhibition is “… a generous invitation to reflect on what drawing is.” Frøydis Haavardsholm received the King’s Medal of Merit in gold, and some may know her stained glass windows in the Church of the Holy Trinity in Oslo and the Church of the Cross in Bergen. Lene Fjørtoft has written about the book artist and illustrator Frøydis Haavardsholm and shows exquisite drawings from the National Museum’s collection.
Heidi Sævareid has met Nora Brech , who over the past ten years has established herself as one of the most colorful and adventurous picture book creators we have, and Stig Andersen has written a book review of the comic book Amazonas – tales from the riverbank by Leo Ribeiro. Finally, I must mention that in my editorial I have an important message for all editors out there. So – happy reading everyone!
